Museum of Cultures (Munsterplatz 20, Basel) – this is the largest ethnological museum in Switzerland and holds one the most significant collections in Europe on life in European and non-European cultures (with over 300,000 artifacts from Africa, Asia, Europe, Oceania and the Pre-Columbian Americas, as well as a 50,000 collection of historic photos). The museum presents its exhibits in a way that invites viewers to self-reflection in an encounter with the Other and otherness. Thus it offers new views and insights, inspiration, and food for thought.
Admission: CHF 16 (adult), CHF 5 (students less than 20 years old). Free for children under the age of 13. Hours: 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (Tuesday – Sunday). Closed on Mondays. See its website for more info: www.mkb.ch
